You are not required to disclose spent convictions covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 in the UK or under your equivalent national legislation. A conviction becomes 'spent' after a certain length of time, which varies depending upon the sentence and your age at the time of conviction, you should contact your local Probation Office, the Citizen's Advice Bureau or your solicitor. Please note that work within the EFL and its member clubs where the normal duties of that work involve regular contact with children aged under 18 and adults at risk are exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
